Exhibition from April 7 to April 29

Our Delft painter Johannes Vermeer painted the Girl with the Pearl circa 1665-1667. A beautiful iconic painting admired by many art lovers. But also a painting that inspires many artists around the world. And that is what we want to show. Therefor the Vermeer Centrum Delft organizes the exhibition:

The Girl inspires

Do not admire one, but many Girls with the pearl. Made by contemporary artists in different versions. Painted Girls but also photos, sculptures or drawings.

The highlight of our exhibition is the painting painted for the AVROTROS program 'The Secret of the Master' presented by Jasper Krabbé. For this program, where the Girl played the leading role, the Girl was copied by the painter Charlotte Caspers.

The first part of the exhibition is free to visit every day between 10 am and 5 pm, and is located on the ground floor. The second part of the exhibition can be seen on the second floor, which requires an entrance ticket.

Also inspired? Then visit the Vermeer Center itself, see all the other Johannes Vermeer paintings, discover the painter's world and experience his working methods.
